Imperatore are redefining rock and metal by forging a new genre from Australia’s west coast: a commanding fusion of operatic power, cinematic orchestration, and modern metal intensity, a signature style crafted and defined by founder Zoran Cunjack himself as Imperial Rock & Metal.

Formed in Perth in 2022, Imperatore began as Zoran’s bold vision to unite the might of heavy metal with the grandeur of classical voice and the scale of cinematic orchestral composition. The result is a sound that stands apart from traditional genres and subgenres, delivering music as emotionally profound as it is sonically thunderous.

What first took shape as Zoran’s solo creative and collaborative project has since evolved into a full-scale performing force, with Daniel Marijanovic on bass and Sean Allsopp on drums, alongside guest guitarist Leon Todd. The band’s 2023 self-titled debut earned critical acclaim and a West Australian Music Award nomination for Song of the Year, introducing audiences to Imperatore’s powerful blend of symphonic drama and narrative-driven rock and metal.

Its follow-up Nations, Rise! (2024) expanded the vision even further, delivering larger sonic landscapes, deeper emotional themes, and the unmistakable hallmarks of their developing sound.

Now, with their third album The Lionspirit released in December 19th, 2025 via Rockshots Records, Imperatore ascend to a new height. Led by the commanding first single “Be A Man” and followed by the emotionally charged “My Life,” the album explores themes of courage, resilience, and self-mastery. Through a breathtaking union of operatic fire, orchestral majesty, and modern metal force, Imperatore, now with a firmly established sound, continue their mission to bring the Imperial spirit into the world, redefining what rock and metal can be.
